  A truly amazing experience! So grateful to the team at Stone Horse for assisting in organising our Ger stay in Darkhid Valley. The team there were very helpful, easy to communicate with in organising necessary paperwork and willing to assist at last minute. Arrived via the Tran Siberian train at 6am in Ulaanbaatar, were picked up straight away by the Stone Horse driver, good English, very accomodating, willing to stop at a corner store for supplies, before being driven directly to the Ger stay. Incredibly opportunity to see locals and rural Ullanbaatar. An experience we would highly recommend. Plenty of freedom to walk around the area, feed the animals, assist in any way on the farm, ride the horse accompanied by the host, but to also retreat to the warmth of the Ger. The inside of the Ger was very comfortable, with hot water in urns that was refilled often, access to fire wood that we helped to top up, but that our lovely hosts also tended to. Our hosts had just enough english for us to communicate. Outside a good tidy drop toilet - perfectly fine, all part of the experience. Animals were very well cared for and in great condition, dogs were well trained and very friendly. Was great to see all the baby calves. Hosts were incredibly hospitable, welcoming us into their home, sharing in throat singing, whilst we sang a few Aussie classics, and with all their splendid cooking all home made. We were very well fed! Ended up cutting our stay short, purely because it was -30 degrees and we didn't want to overuse all of their firewood and had to go to the embassy to finalise visas for further travel. Would still highly recommend a winter experience even for just one night. Truly fabulous once in a lifetime opportunity. Very grateful to Stone Horse, our Driver and our hosts. Stone Horse was also incredible at organising a hostel for us to stay in the remaining nights, transport, as well as a tour around Ullanbaatar to see the main attractions. Many thanks! Will definitely return again when we visit!

  They are very very good to their animals and take equally great care of their customers. The horses are very very well taken care of which is a delight and I have never seen such care in Mongolia. Their knowledge is superb and they do a great job communicating everything . They were a joy to spend the days with and offer terrific meals and all services. They have been doing this for many years and have very talented staff that have been with them for years and years. A top notch, superb outfit. A joy to experiance.

  Khan Khentii Mountains Horse Riding Expedition. Riding will never be the same anymore. Stone Horse Expeditions has set the bar way up to the top. No head to tail riding. Small groups. We were 5 participants, and there were 5 experienced guides with great personalities to take care of all our needs. In all 23 riding and pack horses on the treck giving a true expedition feeling. Days of riding in remote and stunning wilderness, rarely seeing anyone. The camping equipment is excellent as are the comfortable, tailor made saddles. All horses are well trained and sure footed. I've never had better camp food on a trail anywhere. The ultimate horse riding experience. Outstanding service from arrival to departure.
