  Another good place to visit in Ulaambataar. There are some lovely pieces of authentic buddhist art and iconography that survived the cultural purge. This can be a little tricky to find in situ in Mongolia so definitely worth a visit. It's a little pricey and if you want to take photos or videos you have to pay a great deal more. The museum has explanations in English and provides some great insight into the reign of the last Khaans.

  Der Winterpalast des Bogd Khan, dem ehemaligen geistlichen Oberhaupt der Buddhisten in der Mongolei, ist ein beachtlicher Ort. Es ist die einzige von vier Residenzen, die noch besteht. Heute ist es ein Museum, das nebst religiösen Reliquien auch andere Objekte zeigt. Kulturell ist dies interessant, da es auch die frühere Lebensweise und Einrichtungsgegenstände dokumentiert und so einen Einblick in das Leben von Bogd Khan erlaubt. Für kulturell interessierte Menschen, aber auch für völkerkundliche Wissenschafter, ein sehenswerter Ort. Die Anlage ist im typisch chinesischen Stil erstellt, mit Ausnahme des Hauptgebäudes das später gebaut und von der sowjetischen Architektur geprägt ist.

  Very beautiful collection of historicals, nice temple, very nice Areal showing the difference between Tradition and modern asia. I didnt like the collection of stuffed animals though but i guess for somebody who is into it, it must be quite impressive.
